I decided to STOP back up and take my time in continuing with these lessons. I am the kind of person that when I have to assemble something I look at the picture and put it together. After I have it assembled, I go back and read the directions. It would be quicker and easier if I read and follow the directions at the beginning.

7 ½ Lifelong Learning Habits
You could say I had the end with a GOAL in mind when I began this project which is the first of the 7 ½ lifelong learning habits. Now I guess I should settle down and learn the rest of the learning habits at my speed instead of trying to get ahead of or keep up with others taking this online course.

RSS
Therefore, I backed up and looked at lesson 3. I was actually enjoying the search for some of the bloglines in RSS that I subscribed to. You could say it is a variety of things. It includes fellow students’ feeds, work related, and just plain fun things I thought I might like to discover on my own time.

What I really like about RSS is the information is closer to you. By making, your own choices it can save the searching through the thousands of websites. It is almost like having your own private ‘coffee klatch’ readily available.

I can see RSS being a real advantage in the Reference area of the library especially when the schools have a class project related to a specific area of study. It might be easier to pull up an RSS feed for links available for the students than to do a search that comes up with the thousands of sites.
